Biography
M. Steven “Steve” Heath has lived in Athens, Georgia since 1970 and has been a trial attorney in Athens and northeast Georgia for over 40 years. During that time, he has represented numerous companies and individuals in lawsuits in Georgia and the southeastern United States. He has tried cases in the state courts throughout Georgia, the United States District Court, and has argued appellate cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

His practice is focused on civil litigation, including insurance defense, insurance coverage matters, premises liability, negligent security, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, occupational and environmental torts, construction litigation, business litigation, and defamation cases.
He also practices in the area of workers’ compensation law and has successfully handled cases for numerous clients before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation.
Steve obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1974, and in 1977 he obtained his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and he served on the editorial staff of the Georgia Law Review.
Steve lives in Athens with his wife Kaki and children, Landon, Mary Grace, Elli, and Palmer.
